  2. Feel free to join our FACEBOOK group and post articles, events and other information that you think is relevant to your fellow students!
  3. FGS launched the “Wellness Consultation Program”. Wellness consultations are short meetings that provide a starting point for students seeking to enhance their personal mental health or well-being. They are education and support-based and offered by a mental health professional. All registered York University graduate students can now access this service. For more information or to book a consultation, visit the link above.
  4. Are you about to graduate from the doctoral program in Education? Think about applying for contract faculty positions now. York’s blanket application process for contract faculty is starting now for 2019-20 teaching, and other Faculties around the province may be the same.
  5. EDUC 6205 Ethnography of Education has additional spaces available for Winter 2019.
  6. Winter course CHANGE: EDUC 5421 Discourse of Race and Racist Discourse now on TUESDAY at 11:30am.

  8. Full-time PhD ONLY: Blanket applications for 2019-20: The window to submit blanket applications for the upcoming academic year is now open! Full-time students can find the CUPE-1 application athttps://3903.cupe.ca/resources/other-useful-forms-ii/. Remember to check off the “blanket application” box, and also indicate if you are interested in completing a “ticket” (teaching an undergraduate course). Applications for positions in the Faculty of Education should be sent to academicprograms@edu.yorku.ca.

  1. The online application to graduate in February 2019 closed on October 23, 2018.
  2. Your status will not be projected anywhere online, and we will only contact you directly if there are any issues with your degree audit. See attached (graduate in Feb) for more details.
  3. If you have applied to graduate and have not received an email from us, you are all set to attend convocation and must go to the Convocation Website for further information on next steps and how to R.S.V.P.
  4. If you are enrolled in Fall courses; Kindly inform the course director that you have applied to graduate, and that your final grade (this can be an interim grade) will need to be submitted by mid-December FGS deadline in order for you to convocate in February. The sooner you inform the course director, the sooner we can work together on getting your final grade posted on time.
  5. October 2018 graduates: If you did not attend convocation and want to pick up/request the mailing of your diploma, you can do so at Registrarial Services (W120 Bennett Centre for Student Services). Please see the info on the convocation website prior to picking up.

  1. Understanding your student account; The following link takes you through an overview that has been developed to assist you in navigating the various financial processes relevant to graduate studies. It is divided into 3 primary categories accessible through the tabs on the page:
  2. Reminder for submission of all forms and to ensure they are accepted and processed;
    • Students are fully responsible for the download, completion, and submission of forms to their graduate program. Students must attach any correspondence that supports their request at the time of submission.
    • The Graduate Program in Education (GPE) office is unable to accept any incomplete forms, so be sure to have all required signatures (emails in lieu of) and required documentation in a complete package before submitting (hardcopy or email) any forms.
